Where Islam Is Never Separate From Learning.
One education.
One worldview.
One purpose.
Islamised CAPS Curriculum
We don’t simply teach CAPS alongside Islamic Studies.
Our curriculum has been intentionally developed to connect academic learning with an Islamic worldview, helping learners understand knowledge, purpose and the world around them through the lens of Islam.
Academic Excellence
We believe Muslim children should receive an education that prepares them to compete academically at the highest level.
Our learners build strong foundations across the CAPS curriculum while developing curiosity, critical thinking and a genuine love of beneficial knowledge.
Islamic Identity & Character
Education should shape more than academic results.
We nurture imaan, adab, akhlaaq, responsibility and confidence, helping learners understand who they are as Muslims and how they should conduct themselves in the world.
Preparing Children for the Future
Our goal is to develop young Muslims who are ready for university, careers, leadership and service to society without compromising their Islamic identity.
We prepare learners to pursue excellence in this world while remaining conscious of their ultimate purpose.
The Guardian Institute (TGI) was established as a Curriculum Provider in 2021
After broad consultation and involvement of Muslim scholars, academic experts, education leaders, business and social partners
TGI was created in response to two critical challenges.
Many Muslim learners experience Islam as something separate from their academic education.
This creates a gulf between revealed knowledge and the subjects they study every day, making it difficult for learners to see Islam as a complete worldview that informs all areas of life.
Muslim youth are increasingly exposed to ideas, values and subtle messages within mainstream education that may conflict with Islamic teachings.
TGI was established to provide an education that helps learners navigate these challenges while remaining grounded in Islamic values, identity and tradition.
A curriculum built around knowledge, faith and purpose.
Islamised CAPS Curriculum
Our Learner Books, Teacher Guides and Formative Assessments are developed in alignment with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), ensuring that learners meet the academic requirements expected at each grade level.
Islam is not treated as something separate from academic subjects. Learners are encouraged to recognise the connections between what they study and the broader Islamic understanding of knowledge, purpose and creation.
The curriculum aims to develop more than academic ability. It nurtures character, moral values, Tawhid, curiosity and a desire to acquire beneficial knowledge that learners can apply throughout their lives.
The Al-Birr
Series
Al-Birr means righteousness. The series is designed to help nurture learners who are Allah-conscious, confident in their Muslim identity and committed to good character.
The books are designed to be authentic, stimulating and learner-friendly, with an emphasis on understanding rather than simply memorising information.
Learning is designed to help students understand and apply Islamic knowledge in their everyday lives, strengthening the connection between what they learn and how they live.
